Assembly was pretty easy; I actually did it while in early labor, just about 12 hours before my daughter was born. Bed sharing is lovely when breastfeeding, but for some people, it may not be an option, or you may need something to use besides bed-sharing. Before Owen was born, I knew that I’d want him to sleep in our room for at least the first month while we adjusted to our new life. It is bigger than my standard bassinet and has a sleeping area almost as big as my Graco crib with stages (you can read about those here). I also love the looks of this and the much sleeker profile, which is important if space is an issue.
Whether you’re breastfeeding or not, you’ll have to feed your baby several times throughout the night. The weight of the base is far too heavy, if these 3 things could be changed then this would be perfect. Mesh walls provide breathability while also allowing parents to keep watch on their little ones from every angle. I am a big fan of the design of this product, but it is the practical features of this crib that make it a clear winner. However, the mattress protector can be removed and machine-washed, so you could get away without shelling out for a sheet.Safety Reminder: Discontinue use when baby shows signs of rolling over or pushing up on hands + knees. Overall, I would recommend this sleep swaddle to a friend - I have used a few different sleepsacks but this one is definitely a favourite! This makes it so much easier for mums who are breastfeeding or recovering from a C-section to safely reach their little one without having to bend or strain in any way.
I have loved being able to be close enough to my son that I can put my hand on his stomach as we sleep, but with the peace of mind knowing he's not going to fall out or get squashed. Even though I don’t make use of all of the features (the push-down side, nursing timer and light), I can’t fault the ones that I do use. Having a bassinet in our room made me feel infinitely more confident about my skills as a mom and I can now say that I no longer worry about whether or not he’s still breathing in the night, ha! This is great, but I wouldn’t mind the feet being a little shorter as I sometimes trip over them as they stick out quite a bit. Blankets could also easily get caught over his face and mouth too and make it hard for him to breathe.
