My friends already know how a big mafia books obsessed I am and the funny thing is that I've read the only book of Parker that is non mafia related! if you’re so in love then it definitely should’ve been you who figured out you weren’t fucking the right brother.

This is very much a slow and detailed exploration of the relationship between the daughter of a rich business and society leader, Emery Winthrop, and her best friend’s bad-boy, older brother, Nash Prescott. As a person who loves words, I really enjoyed Emery’s love for “magic” words and her ability to work through difficult times and/or emotions by putting words on tshirts.

Now and then you'll come across a book that is SO PHENOMENAL it sets itself apart from every other book you've read and leaves you FLABBERGASTED.Time is something people made up to give value to each breath we take, to remind us that they're limited, that we should leap first and ask questions never. I enjoyed watching Emery and Nash's relationship develop but wish we'd seen more of them as a couple, instead of the small snippets that we get in the epilogue. ladies and gentlemen…nash’s revenge plot against emery and her family for “killing” his dad even tho his dad died of a heart attack. And although the journey was long and angst-filled it was worth it to see these two characters get their happy ending.

When she’s not writing or exchanging food pics with her friends, she’s binge-watching an unhealthy amount of Netflix while curled up with her dogs.

Fast-forward a few years and they’re reunited, only the tables have turned and the dynamics have once again shifted. Nash’s family works and lives on the Winthrop property, and Emery’s best friend is his younger brother, Reed. He sees the love that Emery has for his brother, and assumes that someday things will work out for them. If you read my little info recap up there, you might have noticed that the list of tropes goes on and on; this novel is, in fact, a trope soup that will leave you full for days.
