About this deal

Zone 0 for a shower room is the area inside the shower basin. If there is no shower basin, zone 0 is 10cm high from the finished floor level and extends to 1.2m around the fixed shower head.

The space under the bath tub or shower basin is considered to be zone 1. However, if the space under the bath or shower basin is only accessible with a tool, it is considered to be outside the zones. In terms of performance, we found that this showerhead held up exceptionally well, with a consistent and even water flow. However, the spray area isn’t particularly wide, which can be an issue for those who prefer more of a rainfall effect. But with six different spray patterns, we still found that the product is highly effective and customizable to your liking. We also love how easy the showerhead is to move around, as it uses a swivel-action adjustment to change the direction of the stream. What’s more, the product offers a ton of value at a reasonable cost.

The best shower heads you can buy in 2023

After cleaning each showerhead, we scored the product on its durability, noting its overall construction, how easy it was to clean and maintain, and whether or not there are any features that make the showerhead easier to clean or resistant to clogging or build-up. Finally, we assessed the showerheads’ value by comparing their retail prices with their overall quality. We also considered how (if at all) the showerheads enhanced our daily lives and whether or not we would recommend the products to a friend or family member. Vent-Axia has really pushed the boat out with this brand-new model. Aside from shifting up to 39l of damp air per second, this bathroom extractor comes crammed with more sensor tech than any other model on the market. In fact, it has a sensor for everything, even odour. Yes, that’s right, when this clever little air mover detects a nasty smell, it either switches itself on or, if already running, speeds up the fan, returning the bathroom to its original sweet-smelling scent in a thrice. Extractor fans installed within zone 2 must be fitted with 12v SELV motors with the SELV transformers and isolators fitted outside of zone 0, 1 & 2. Shelling out extra cash for a quality, sleek showerhead can be a great way to upgrade your daily routine. While the Delta HydroRain Two-in-One Shower Head doesn’t come cheap, after putting this showerhead to the test, we think its dual design, variety of settings, and high-quality construction justify its price tag. Finally, if you think you (or anyone else in the house) will forget to turn the fan on, consider a model with a humidity sensor. This automatically activates the fan when the level of moisture in the air exceeds a certain threshold. This sensor may need occasional cleaning, though, or the accumulation of dust or grime will hinder its effectiveness. What about noise?

A high-pressure shower head will work to ensure that the water flow is the best it can be, providing you with a steady stream and one that you can really feel – so you know you are getting clean. If you love an intense shower, nothing beats a high-pressure showerhead—and thanks to the AquaCare High Pressure 8-mode Handheld Shower Head, you don’t have to break the bank to get one. Through testing, we’ve confirmed that this showerhead offers high-end performance, with a 2.5 GPM flow rate and a wide variety of settings at a relatively low price point. In addition to the basics, modern shower heads may offer extra features such as a built-in Bluetooth speaker or LED lighting. These aren’t always practical for a handheld shower, though, and they’re no substitute for an effective spray pattern. On that note, if a shower offers you ten different patterns, ask yourself how many you’re actually likely to use: most of us rarely need more than one or two patterns. We evaluated the ease of setup by noting how complicated the directions were, how long the process took, and whether or not any special tools were needed. Next, we assessed the features (including Bluetooth, filters, and dual settings, if applicable), considering how useful and simple they were to navigate. To evaluate performance, we observed the water pressure and flow, taking into account the area and power of the stream. To evaluate the showerhead settings, we took note of how easy it was to adjust the position of each showerhead and whether or not the settings allowed us to customize the shower to different preferences. Zone 2 for a shower room is the same height as zone 1 extended to 0.6m around the shower basin. If there is no shower basin zone 2 is replaced by zone 1 extended to 1.2m around the fixed shower head.

Blow off some steam, banish damp and wave goodbye to condensation with our favourite bathroom extractor fans for every budget

Most showers and shower heads use a standard half-inch pipe and fittings, so you can mix and match hoses and heads from different manufacturers. If you’re upgrading your head, however, think about whether you need to upgrade the hose at the same time: if it’s worn or leaking, it could be part of the problem. Can a new shower head help with low water pressure? Showerheads come in many different spray patterns, and some even come with adjustable spray patterns. Some common ones include rain, massage, and jet. Rain provides wide, gentle coverage, while jet and massage are more targeted and forceful. When you live somewhere with high water pressure, you want to know that you are getting the most out of your shower. After all, there isn’t much better than coming home from a long day at work and just spending some time standing under a powerful stream of hot water. The PureAir Sense comes with two spigots (or sleeves): one for standard 100mm installation and another for larger 125mm portals. The larger spigot is the one to fit if you want to benefit from its excellent 39l per second flow rate. That said, its standard 32l per second flow rate is still better than most and easily good enough for the majority of bathroom installations.

In general, we’ve been pleased with the overall performance of this showerhead. But because the filters are pricey and have to be replaced so frequently, we’d really only recommend this product to those who are very conscious of water quality and willing to pay for the upkeep.

There are three main types of showerheads: fixed, handheld, and dual (a combination of fixed and handheld). Fixed showerheads are mounted to the wall, while handheld showerheads are connected to the wall via a flexible hose. Handheld or dual showerheads are particularly useful for pets, kids, and anyone with limited mobility.
