There were elements of Zach's story that seemed like pretty large coincidences, but if a reader isn't willing to accept a convenient coincidence here and there, it might be time for a new hobby. First, a sniper marksman takes the life of Warren Hellman, a high profile movie producer, as he leaves the court following his being found not guilty of intentionally killing a well-respected New York detective. This police unit of hardworking and determined detectives is dedicated towards investigating the crimes involving high-profile people such as political operatives, celebrities, rich citizens, etc. At the beginning of the story of the book, it is shown that whenever an NYPD unit reaches a crime scene, they get noticed. He used his reference to perfectly set the tone for the book; it provided just the right amount of foreboding. Marshall Karp nails the core of a gritty on-the-streets crime thriller that couples authentic police procedural elements with an unremitting pace filled with crafty and ingenious twists and turns…NYPD Red 7: Murder Sorority is one of the most energetic and engaging thrillers of the year and it’s one you can’t miss out on. The same goes for the plot about Kylie's boyfriend and the shooting (and what that suggests about the ongoing story about her now-missing husband).

This book really changed my mind about Kylie, making me enjoy reading about her just as much as I did at the beginning of the series which also made reading about the crime fighting duo of Zach and Kylie a lot more fun as well.
