About this deal

Done ) Cover intake above and under the GPU to not make it reuse the same heated air that could flow out from the side. It provides the added space to mount larger graphics cards, up to three-slot width, in an unusual configuration behind the motherboard. Hardware Canucks is focused in-depth reviews of the the latest graphics cards, CPUs, storage, smartphones, notebooks and gaming peripherals.

The DAN cases have been manufactured by Lian Li for a while, with the A4 being quite the staple in the SFF community.

We’re still adding cases to the list, and we’re looking forward to testing lower cost options as well. There are other tweaks versus the H2O’s precursor, but most of the focus is on the liquid cooling, given the name. Lian Li has obviously gotten this method of construction down to a science – balancing simple materials and mature manufacturing methods to make a competent final product.

Sometimes, we don’t need fancy reviewer metrics -- just plain old length by width already tells us the footprint, and it’s something you can read in the spec sheet and measure without needing us. The main difference is in the H2O part – the ability to mount a 240mm liquid cooler radiator in the top of the case. We ended up needing to squish down on the tubes with the side panel to make it close, but we don’t think it’s to a problematic degree. If you are looking for an SFF case that focuses on water cooling, this might be the one that does everything right. I track my power consumption with a smart plug, and I'm around 60kWh per month using it 16 hours a day (home office) with occasional gaming. Every panel is removable for ease of access, with many sporting a fine mesh for excellent ventilation. Additionally, improving the design of the previous A4-SFX, this model can accommodate a 240 AiO with the radiator in a dedicated chamber.

Differences from the original H60i version I tried first include a longer radiator connected with lengthier (14-inch) tubing, an added TRX40 mounting kit, and an extra 120mm fan. The A4-H2O makes a good fit to follow our Terra review then, since it’s a more ‘traditional’ ITX design. if the RDNA2 iGPU on Ryzen 6000 APU's is any good, I hope that creates a vacuum for quality cases that look like cubes. Despite being cheaper than the Terra or a FormD T1 Sandwich, the A4-H2O does feel a little expensive in our opinion – just strictly based on what it is in isolation, given the construction methods and relatively simple design. Both the PSU and the radiator mount to removable brackets within the case, which has become a popular approach in small and large cases alike.RAM, DDr4 is 3200 CL16 is todays standard for new builds, DDr5 6400 Cl32 is essentially the same just with it being ddr5 instead.
