About this deal

What I admire about Bluefin is their drive to make the best equipment possible that will last, all for a reasonable price. They have not cut corners on materials and their 5-year warranty is just outstanding. The excellent quality and workmanship of the board and accessories is in the top range. Especially the stiffness of the Bluefin boards convinces me every time. Basically, the Bluefin paddle boarding are no bargains, but real price / performance winners.

The double-action pump worked well, which I used to finish off inflating the board when the electric pump couldn’t do anymore. Double action means it pumps air in when pulling up as well as pushing down. Pump: The single-chamber dual-action pump won’t impress, but with a lot of people opting into an electric pump it maybe doesn’t matter. No matter what, you’ll get your SUP pumped up to the recommended 15-18 PSI without too much struggle. Secondly, you can convert this paddle into a kayak version for when you want to have a sit down on the board. The cruising board is not designed for top speeds, but is still built quite sporty. The tapered nose provides low water resistance. The Bluefin Cruise Carbon 10’8 is a tip stable entry level model that is still built quite sporty. On a scale of beginner to pro paddle boarding, we would rank it at “beginner +”. The advantages of this system are that the position of the fin in the fin box can be freely selected and that significantly more different fins are available for this system.

The 12’ is the same width as the 10’8, so although the board can carry more weight, it feels very similar in terms of side-to-side wobbliness. Yes, that’s a non-technical term but hopefully that makes sense! So it’ll be wrong to think the 12’ is much more stable. The payoff for a board that is very wide is that it won’t ‘cut’ through the water and will feel like a barge, slow and unresponsive. On top of that something that is too easy to use means that you won’t progress your technique which helps with balance and board control. The paddle can be extended from 175cm to 210cm and even converted into a kayak paddle with an additional blade (sold separately). The only downside is that some may find the blade a bit large. Triple-Action Pump It should be noted, however, that the Cruise Carbon has two air chambers. With the triple action pump, it took us less than 6 minutes in our Bluefin Cruise Carbon test. Which boards do you think could compete with this board or do you consider as even better? Let me know in the comments, I’m wondering if there are any different opinions! Both the 10’8 and 12ft Bluefin Cruise are 82cm wide, which is pretty normal for an all-round beginner board. I like that Bluefin didn’t make the 12ft wider, because it would really affect its performance on the water and wouldn’t be fun to use.

However, if you want to paddle in pairs (as two light adults) or if you weigh more, you should rather go for the Bluefin Cruise Carbon 12. However, like most all-rounders, it’s ok at everything but great at nothing so you will outgrow this board at some point, this is when you decide if you want a tourer, race or wave SUP. If you’re already at a more experienced level, then I’d recommend looking at something a little more exciting, like the Bluefin Rouge Tourer.

Should You Buy the Bluefin Cruise Carbon?

I’m 85kg and 6’2ish and found the 10’8 easy to use. The 10’8, which is the length of the board, is the classic beginner size because it’s stable enough for most beginners, but manoeuvrable so you can practice turning with ease. We have tested the two versions of these boards extensively, and you will see a lot of personal pictures of us on these two boards. The latest Cruise Carbon 2023 versionis the DARKER SUP while the old Cruise version is in BLUE. In this review below, I will show you how we experienced these paddle boards. User manual: Paddling beginners who have never maneuvered a SUP board before, this one will pleasantly surprise you. The user manual that comes with the board eliminates the need to search for youtube videos (that aren’t often there to begin with). Bluefin Cruise Carbon Triple-Action Air Pump: Included in the delivery is a triple-action pump. This air pump has two cylinders and a total of three modes. In the first mode, only one cylinder is used to pump air when pushing down, just like a single stroke pump. Two air chambers: The Bluefin Cruise Carbon has two separate air chambers. On the one hand, this provides more stiffness and on the other hand, this can be practical in the event of an accident. Since the central air chamber can keep the board afloat alone.
