About this deal

Slime by David Walliams is a hilarious and slimetastically delightful book that follows young Ned as he encounters an alien named Hubble who grants him three wishes. But when the wishes go awry, Ned must find a way to fix the mess he's created. Sign up to The World of David Walliams today and we’ll ensure you’re the first to hear the latest Walliams news, including upcoming events, special offers and school discounts. David Walliams and Tony Ross assert the moral right to be identified as the author and illustrator of this work. This is Grandpa. He has been told he has a funny face too. The old man loves his grandson very much, and all he wants is for Bob to be happy. Grandpa is very poor and wishes he had more money to treat his grandson to nice things, like days out together.

PRAISE FOR DAVID WALLIAMS: A pleasure to read. A beguilingly funny, original and thought-provoking tale... hilarious - Amanda Craig, The Times I absolutely love David Walliams's books. In a few more years they will become classics - Sue Townsend, author of Adrian Mole, Guardian The new Roald Dahl - Evening Standard A triumphant mix of wit and warmth - Telegraph Books of the Year Ridiculously over-the-top and utterly delightful Since then, author David has developed a reputation for himself as a successor of Roald Dahl. Since the year 2012, author David has been working as a judge on the talent show called Britain’s Got Talent on ITV. Other than that, he has also written a played an important role in a couple of seasons of the BBC One show called Big School. I didn't like the Audible version very much, the music used as bookends to chapters was annoying, a little 80s computer-sounding, and I think I'd have preferred to read an illustrated paper copy. I did find myself tuning out a few times, which I try very hard not to do. This was a Christmas present from Gran. (Thanks Gran love you). Its really way below my reading age, I would say max age 11. The story is very short, too many pictures and BOLD capital letters that are annoying.

Summary

Between the years 1989 and 1992, author David studied at the Bristol University. During that time, he used to reside at the Manor Hall and later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama in the year 1992. It was during the university holidays in the year 1990 that David met with his future comedy partner named Matt Lucas while performing at the National Youth Theater. I am a massive David Walliams fan, so I expected a lot from this book. As usual David Walliams and Tony Ross delivered the goods.

In fact, before seeing the “DO NOT TAP ON THE GLASS” sign, Bob had not thought of doing such a thing. It hadn’t even crossed his mind. Now he had an overwhelming desire to do it. Bob was curious. What would happen if he tapped on the glass? Would it shatter? Would the zoo self-destruct? Would the world end? There was only one way to find out. But a nice short story nonetheless. Easy and fast to read. There are lots of fascinating animals included as well, both familiar and rarely heard of, and the illustrations are lovely. I actually wondered if there is really something as blobfish, and surprisingly, there is! The old man laughed heartily. “Ha! Ha! Ha! You can’t fall up a tree! Now come on, boy, what are you really doing up there?” His most recent fiction title, The World’s Worst Children, published on 19th May 2016 sold over 340,000 copies in the UK alone. It went straight to No. 1 on release where it stayed for 4 weeks and also concurred Children’s Books charts, where it stayed at No.1 for 7 weeks. Internationally sales continue to thrive, The World’s Worst Children also went straight to No. 1 in the Australian children’s chart and remained there for three consecutive weeks and reached the No. 1 in the overall book chart in New Zealand.A pleasure to read. A beguilingly funny, original and thought-provoking tale... hilarious" - Amanda Craig, The Times I was given it as I loved Archie Wilson & The Beasts of Loch Ness . One of the best secret books, I call Archie a secret book as its really unknown the author does not appear next to Simon Cowell on Britains Got talent. That book is a classic. While I applaud an author for broadening their range, I just didn't really like this one. While I could read Billionaire Boy or Boy in the Dress again and again, this one isn't likely to be repeated on our school runs.
