About this deal

That being said, I couldn’t agree more with you and your thoughts on this book! I do not understand why Luke/Dave wouldn’t have said something about Billy. Did he? Did I miss the explanation somewhere?? – is all I could think after finishing… I would love to hear Ashely’s thoughts on this. Jodie warns her not to tell Dave. Krissy’s “suicide” occurs that very day, so Jodie thinks that Dave/Luke must have killed Krissy after she told him that he was the twins’ father. But this was actually not the case! Billy was the one who killed Krissy because she realized he was the one who killed January. Speaking of the end, it’s the only part of the book I didn’t love, as there were loose ends I didn’t feel were tied up (and I love when everything is tied up neatly!). This wasn’t enough to keep me from loving the book, though.

I am never a fan of a plot with an elaborate cover-up for an accident, something that happens in many books. Tragic accidents happen and unless it’s something like a DUI, people rarely get thrown in prison for them. And Mom’s the same as ever. Delusional.” Luke snorted. “What’s Bethany delusional about this time?” “She seems to think I’m a millionaire because I write for a newspaper.” What fell short for me was the various characters that seem to come and go and the reader had no idea to where or why. The ending was a tad (really enormously) ridiculous and made the story even more convoluted that added a large question mark as to the mystery's solution. All Good People Here has enough twists and layers for three novels. Ashley Flowers has taken a premise familiar to true-crime fans and created a story that’s compelling and psychologically rich, with an ending that’s as unnerving as it is satisfying.” —Lou Berney While in Billy’s house, Margot sees a photo of January holding her baby blanket, the one Jace said she was clutching when he found her at the bottom the stairs. How is the January Jacobs Case Similar to Other True Crime Cases, like the JonBenét Ramsey case? Character List for All Good People Here:

I am not super familiar with the JonBenét Ramsey case, but there seem to be some superficial similarities: So far, no theory has been definitively proven. This spring, some media outlets raised the possibility of doing enhanced DNA testing in the hopes of finally solving the case, but I haven’t seen any results of that or know if it ever happened. Similarities between January’s murder and the April Tinsley case Book Genre: Adult, Contemporary, Crime, Drama, Fiction, Mystery, Mystery Thriller, Suspense, Thriller Natalie Clark may have been the catalyst for Margot’s investigation but HER story is never explored, making this a journalist’s quest to solve a COLD CASE.The cost of this marriage, she knew, would be keeping those secrets. She just hoped it would be worth it.” Jesus, you got a lot of stuff, kid,” Luke said, his arms laden with bags. “It’s like you think you’re moving in.” Eight year-old April was out playing with a friend and decided to home and get her umbrella. Then she vanished.

Jodie thinks Dave/Luke did it, because Krissy died right after telling him he was the father of the twins. I was intrigued by both cases. The unsolved murder of the main characters childhood neighbor in 1994 and the disappearance of another little girl two decades later. I was also intrigued by everything going on in Margot's private life. What fell short for me was the various characters that seem to come and go and the reader had no idea to where or why. The ending was a tad (really enormously) ridiculous and made the story even more convoluted that added a Margot swallowed. Despite sharing only superficial similarities with her uncle’s late wife—short brown hair and an average build—Margot was used to Luke calling her by the other woman’s name. Still, it stung every time. “I’m Margot, remember? Your niece—Adam’s daughter?” This was the part that twisted in her stomach. Adam’s daughter didn’t convey that he, Luke, was more of a dad to her than her father had ever been. Niece didn’t capture that, besides his late wife, she was his favorite person and he hers. But it was best to start small, jog his memory, and the rest would usually follow. Now, rather than keep ranting I am going to finish with the ending… my god that ending. Trash is all I can say. It was suppose to create suspense and have us wondering and hoping… but it just leaves the reader hanging with no resolution - but then the epilogue gives a play by play of another part of the book which took hand holding to the maximum. It was complete rubbish I hated the ending. It completely ruined the entire book and any parts that could have been good for me. 😡All Good People Here has plot elements similar to a completely spectulative and unproven theory about the JBR case, that one or both of JBR’s parents staged the scene to cover up the fact that someone in the family was involved in what happened to JonBenét. In the briefest of moments, she’d gone from surprised at the invitation for an interview to regally accepting it, as if she’d been patiently sitting by all day just for someone to ask her.”

Special thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group/ Ballantine for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts. She’d gotten the feeling he’d been protecting Jace when he’d said this, but the discrepancy between a bit of trouble and putting a kid in the hospital was a pretty big gulf. “Jesus.”I understand him not saying anything in all the chaos of January’s death, but fifteen years later, when Krissy decides to come clean, he already knows. After a moment, Margot heard the plunk of a dead bolt, then the door creaked slowly, barely, open. Her pasted-on smile faltered. stars — I have heard a lot of talk about “All Good People Here” due to it being the first novel written by Ashley Flowers, the host of the popular podcast, “Crime Junkie.” My thoughts after reading this book are — Flowers does a great job as the host of the popular podcast, “Crime Junkies.”
