Entré a este libro sin saber absolutamente nada de él. A grandes rasgos puedo decir que me gustó y estuvo entretenido. Dije que no me molestó tanto lo que sucedía y es cierto, al no importarme Jeanne nada me sorprendía especialmente y, dentro de todo, siguió caminos muy conocidos, incluida una traición al final que se veía venir. El epílogo quedó con el mismo tono mega dramático de todo el libro, con Jeanne prometiendo venganza y hablando de algunos misterios que nunca vi o no me importaron. Lo curioso es que, para el final, Jeanne sigue estando tan sola como al inicio y con una misión tan suicida como al inicio, solo que un poco mejor posicionada, pero no sucedió lo esperable de que para el final formara parte de algo más grande, algo como una rebelión o por el estilo.

Me pareció interesante la construcción del mundo, en el siglo XVIII el Rey Sol no quería morir y pasó por una transmutación que le dio la vida eterna convirtiéndolo en el primer vampiyo. Desde entonces, la nobleza más fiel a él se ganó ese mismo derecho y se crearon las castas, en las que los vampyros estaban en la cima y todos los plebeyos debían de pagar un diezmo de sangre. Para ser un tema tan recurrente como los vampiros, encontré que esta nueva versión ambientada en la corte francesa del sXVIII fue interesante. Tiene escenas CRUENTAS pero eso es lo que más he disfrutado, cómo me ha calado, he sufrido lo mismo que la protagonista, sus pesares, angustias y tristezas. Y además esta protagonista es estupenda os lo prometo, qué buena evolución. La vemos desenvolverse en un mundo que no es el suyo como lo haríamos todos: MAL, pero mejora!!
