For those of you with a spiderfang general, Spider Riders can be battleline and certainly exist. A bit more exciting is the Arachnarok Spider with Spiderfang Warparty , giving the faction its sole ability to monster mash if you’re that way inclined. No longer relegated to being the worst big spider but it’s battleline I guess, the warparty now counts as 10 models for contesting objectives which is really good! Behemoth I suspect we will see a lot of Fungoid Cave-Shamans in Gloomspite Gitz lists given the model’s use as a multi-spell caster and command point factory. This battletome contains a one-use code to add the book to your digital library in Warhammer Age of Sigmar: The App. at the end of your turns, and on a 4+, you can return half of a destroyed Stabbas or Shootas unit to the battlefield for free (so 30 models of a 60 model unit etc). You can only do this once for each destroyed unit (it isn’t endlessly recycling grots) and the unit must be set up wholly within 12″ of the Loonshrine and more than 3″ away from enemy units. The different clans of the Gloomspite Gitz worship a terrifying celestial body known as the Bad Moon. This revolting orb veers haphazardly through the heavens above the Mortal Realms, shedding its evil light and leering maniacally at the terrified mortals below.

Gloomspite’s command traits have two selections, one available to all grots and one for the Dankhold Troggboss. They are all really powerful options, from the ability ( The Clammy Hand) to use twice per turn the Moonclan Lair ability of the Loonshrine (that allows to resurrect half of a slain unit) to the ability ( Fight Another Day) of Loonbosses to retreat after fighting or wizards to cast an extra spell when under the Bad Moon influence ( Loon-touched). And Troggbosses are not inferior, as they can become Monsters with 2 more wounds ( Alpha Trogg) or add to the list a Gloomspite endless spell without paying its cost value and attempt to summon it as if they were wizards ( Loonskin). Not to be outdone, the diminutive loons of the Gloomspite Gitz are also dragging an updated battletome into the light of day, full of detailed histories of their tribes and their strange origins, plus their surge in power through the Era of the Beast. It has the usual set of rules for subfactions, relics, and magic, as well as warscrolls, battleplans, and all the other good stuff. The Moonclan Grots battletome was teased at Blood and Glory, the UK’s largest Warhammer Age of Sigmar event, in the studio preview.

Allies

There’s three interesting, if not overwhelmingly strong, options for the Dankhold Troggboss. Firstly, Alpha Trogg provides two extra wounds and the Monster keyword, a small mercy for everyone who thought they should be monsters anyway. Trogg Smash is a once per battle 3” mortal wound bomb that triggers after the Troggboss fights. Most intriguing is Loonskin which lets you take one of the non-arachnacauldron Gitz endless spells for 0 points and lets your general attempt to cast it (but crucially, does not make them a wizard so any of those predatory spells will be wild). However, we now have a whole new unit variant called Sporesplatta Fanatics. At 120 points for five models, this unit has a number of cool features, including: the Bad Moon fills the Gloomspite Gits with lunacy, which they refer to as “Gloomspite”. When the Bad Moon waxes, wars rage New cavalry is always welcome, and these Snarlfangs look strikingly like some popular LOTR units and the old Wolf Riders from Warhammer Fantasy. The Fellwater Troggoths have received a strong offensive boost for their shooting and melee weapons. However, the healing is not as strong as it once was. The things that folks were worried about before are still things that you should worry about. How you end of dealing with them may shift but, ultimately, the army as a whole didn’t break the mold so to speak — it’s better, but not game breakingly busted.So this is an army with a bunch of not-that related factions and races in it; "Well might their enemies wonder what could unite such anarchic beings into an army capable of conquest and slaughter on a grand scale. For the answer, one need only look to the darkest corner of the heavens." Gitz were notorious for the fact that for a long time they didn’t have subfactions, until they did. The Battletome did not launch with any, but they’d eventually get some through White Dwarf, then reprinted in Broken Realms. They were…fine, in a ‘better than nothing’ sort of way. The subfaction Badsnatchers provides an extra buff to Moonclan wizards allowing to reroll one of the casting dice if within 9″ of another friendly Moonclan wizard and the artefact Staff of Sneaky Stealin’ provides a +1 to casting that increases each time the Moonclan wizard unbinds successfully. The Loonboss on Mangler Squig gives you a powerful, fast hero unit for 300 points. At that points cost you could take two. Plus add the Fight Another Day command trait to be able to charge and retreat as well and the Squig Lure spell to run and charge.
