About this deal

There are a couple of other issues with the 50QN90A’s pictures too. First and worst, in the most instantly appealing Standard picture preset, pretty excessive amounts of shadow detail can be lost in the darkest parts of the picture unless you nudge up the dedicated Shadow Detail adjustment. Go too far with that, though, and the brightness ‘lift’ it causes can start to have a negative impact on bright parts of the picture. Auto Motion Plus Settings or Picture Clarity Settings: Enhance picture sharpness to optimize fast-moving images. Switching to the Custom configuration allows you to adjust Blur Reduction and Judder Reduction and turn on LED Clear Motion. These talents make the 50QN90A a seriously compelling gaming display too, despite the set having to rein in some of its contrast and colour enhancement technologies to deliver its exceptionally low 9.2ms (at 60Hz) input lag time when running in its Game picture mode.

Perfect the minimalist look with a super slim and ultra-stylish TV. From the middle of the sofa to the armchair in the corner, your Neo QLED TV has been delicately crafted to look beautiful from any angle. While MicroLED remains the preserve of the super-rich for now, Samsung is bringing Mini LED tech to its premium QLEDs, which it refers to as 'Neo QLEDs'. The first chapter’s police raid on the National Opera House in Kiev is a masterclass of HDR performance. This TV is so bright compared to OLEDs, with the Mini LED technology allowing for such careful pinpoint control of that luminance, that it’s hard to draw our eyes away from the action even for a second. Details come to life with ultra-rich color, deep contrast, and HDR10+ dynamic tone mapping that shifts the color and contrast scene by scene for spectacular clarity. The Q600A delivers truly immersive surround sound with the courtesy of market leading technology through multiple custom designed built-in speakers. This alongside a bass boosting subwoofer included in the box means you’re encapsulated with pure and precise directional sound.

Performance

There are now four versions of OTS, with the new OTS Lite at the bottom and OTS Pro at the top. Each version differs in terms of the number of speakers involved. The 50QN90A’s connections are all built into the TV rather than integrated into an external One Connect box of the sort provided with Samsung’s flagship TVs. They’re still plentiful, though, including four HDMIs, three USBs and the usual wi-fi and Bluetooth options. One of the HDMIs supports eARC, for passing lossless Dolby Atmos audio out to a suitably capable soundbar or AVR, while HDMI 4 supports the latest gaming features of 4K at 120Hz, VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode). Some models also offer additional features, such as Bluetooth connectivity for wireless audio connections, and smartphone and tablet connections. The ratio between the horizontal and the vertical side of the display. Some of the standard and widely used aspect ratios are 4:3, 5:4, 16:9 and 16:10.

We head straight for a modern day big hitter with Christopher Nolan’s Tenet on 4K Blu-ray, and all fears of the mind-twisting plot to come are replaced by the wow factor produced by the way this TV handles the action. Information about the number of pixels on the horizontal and vertical side of the screen. A higher resolution allows the display of a more detailed and of higher quality image. With 4K HDR content, the Samsung QN94A moves into overdrive. Highlights are incredibly bright but don’t sacrifice detail. The QN94A delivers some of the punchiest, vibrant and colourful 4K HDR images I’ve seen. However, overall this is a superb new model, and successfully laid down the Mini LED gauntlet for the 2022 flagship, the Samsung QN95B. Read on for our full Samsung QN95A review. Samsung QN95A: availability and price Samsung brings you innovation at the very source. Samsung's Quantum Mini LED delivers smaller, greater, finer lights. Together with ultra-thin micro layers, light can be precisely controlled, and brightness, contrast and sharpness can be maintained at their optimum. See every epic moment, on this Samsung 50 inch TV, in jaw-dropping detail and pixel-perfect contrast, thanks to Samsung's state-of-the-art Quantum Matrix technology. But speaking of motion processing, it’s worth talking about the new Motion Xcelerator Turbo+ technology that’s used by the Neo Quantum Processor 4K. It’s slightly more judicious in the way it uses judder reduction, but stutter is still an issue because of the way the TV’s native 120Hz refresh rate. Basically, the TV can overprocess some images, giving films a soap opera effect or, worse, making some scenes that have a bit of a natural shaky cam effect look like something from the Blair Witch Project or Cloverfield – it’s non-stop shaking that can really be a turn off.
