I used a stud finder to locate the studs along that line. After I found all of the studs, I used a pencil to mark the center of each stud on the wall. To maximise the sheet timber, we have designed our cleats so that they are 5 inches or approximately 130mm wide. You can easily tweak this measurement to suit your space and custom design.
