The Carnegie thing… Y’all, if the only reason you read this book is to find out why this Carnegie thing completely melted my heart, do it. It melted me, I’m telling you.

When I discover a debut author, I'm always anxious to see if the second book will be as good as the first and author Tari Faris certainly didn't disappoint me. Until I Met You has great characters, a charming small-town setting, realistic situations, and there is also...romance! When Libby Kingsley and Austin Williams meet, you just know that something interesting is in the works. Yes, their initial reactions are a little iffy but we all know that chemistry is the key and Libby and Austin certainly have plenty of powerful chemistry! La historia en contada en dos tiempos en Soho, en la postguerra de los años 20s por Arlette y por Betty en los 90s. Faris handled the balance of the four different points of view well, and I particularly enjoyed having both Austin’s and Nate’s perspectives on the falling out between them. The downside for me was that I could see the stage being set for each situation that reinforced the conflict between them, and I sometimes felt as though events were being manipulated specifically to perpetuate the conflict. I often found the same to be true of the romantic tension, which tended toward the usual misunderstandings and stubborn clinging to false narratives about themselves and others. As a result, I didn’t find this read as engaging as I would have liked; however, the themes of trust and grace are prominent throughout the story and will please readers who enjoy a strong faith thread in their contemporary romance. Amber is also narrating the audiobook herself (“I don’t know why I signed up to do that with my Geordie accent!”) with her recent recording sessions leaving her pondering about possible follow-ups.Jewell’s moving novel immerses readers in the lives of these unique characters through the universal themes of family and a search for belonging...a compelling and entertaining novel.” — Publishers Weekly Small towns, romance and a construction project with no budget and a strict deadline - what could possibly go wrong? Throw in a nosy journalist, bad publicity and some miscommunication and everything that could go wrong does. Until I Met You is a sweet and charming story about finding the right person at the wrong time, moving on from the past and learning to make the most of every day and every situation. The modern-day girl--she constantly wants to remind us she "gave up her life" to care for an old lady. What does she want, a medal? She likes one guy but beds another. She can't wait for the old lady to die but then just sells the stuff she looked forward to acquiring. And the Soho bit...why the obsession with living in a place that is a "kingdom of sirens and neon and filth and chaos and double yellow lines as far as the eye could see"?

With small town charm and beautifully crafted characters, Until I Met You, the second installment of author Tari Faris’ Restoring Heritage series, is sure to delight readers of contemporary romance. Readers can start with this book and fully understand the storyline, but to get the full enjoyment of the Restoring Heritage series, I recommend reading P.S. Goodbye (the prequel novella) and You Belong With Me (book one) first. These books are a great introduction to many of the characters who will play an important role in the Restoring Heritage series. Also, this novel provides two romances for the price of one, as each Williams brother finds love. Libby and Austin were just delightful—I loved how Libby came out of her shell around Austin and wasn't afraid to confront him. They truly brought out the best in each other. And, after watching Nate and Olivia dance around each other in previous books, I loved seeing their romance play out here. Unfortunately the novelty of the plot is all this novel has going for it. With flat, unrealistic characters, improbable romances with little chemistry, and little that leaves you invested in the outcome. I had high hopes for this book, but it did not deliver. Samantha blushed. They know. They all know. Every single person at Gate B12, every pasty, bleary-eyed traveller, knew that she was that sad, sorry girl on her way to a wedding without a date. Not only that, she’d had the nerve to take up an entire aisle just for herself. Before they judged her too harshly, perhaps she should explain. Her ex-boyfriend had booked the seat next to hers. But at the very last minute he cancelled the trip, preferring to throw away an all-expenses-paid holiday in the Caribbean to travelling with her. What could she say? These things happened. Surely, they’d understand.

Samantha closed the photo app and tapped on the WhatsApp icon. After a few swipes, she landed on the extended group chat saved under VEGAS SQUAD, in reference to the trip to Nevada nearly five years ago where she and Naomi had met Jasmine and Hugo. Her thumb hovered over the keyboard. She shouldn’t be this nervous. These were her friends, after all. They adored her, but they had the doggedness of unjaded criminal investigators. They wouldn’t stop until they got to the truth. Former Made In Chelsea star and presenter Georgia Toffolo currently writes for the publishing house still closely associated with so called ‘bodice-rippers’, producing her series of ‘Meet Me… ‘ modern love stories in partnership with writer Louisa George. The different dynamics between the other couples was also one of my favourite aspects of this book. Some pairs seemed unconventional, some seemed unbreakable, some seemed on the verge of breaking. Through the variety, I witnessed the realness of relationships and I love that this book didn't stray from the downs that can come from being "booed up". I most highly recommend Until I Met You! If you are a fan of Christian contemporary romance, especially Susan May Warren's books you need to read Tari Faris! You don't want to miss a single moment of the amazingness that is the Restoring Heritage series! This is a tight knit community, where everyone knows just about everything, so reputations are on display. I liked how Ms. Faris portrayed the characters as having flaws but after some stubbornness, they learned to let God lead.”When I push God away, He doesn’t force Himself on me. And when I look for Him, He tends to find me.”A large percentage of the book is focused on Austin’s relationship with his brother, Nate. Readers of the series will recognise Nate from book one. He is the young, tattooed paster, firefighter and all round good samaritan, but all Austin sees is someone who never shows for family commitments and who caused so much damage to their lives. Austin has a lot to work through and forgive in his relationship with Nate, but every time he needs Nate it seems like he is being let down again. His frustrations bleed into his growing relationship with Libby and spiral downward again. What a delightful novel! I was truly absorbed by Betty and Arlette. A wonderful perspective on the curiosity, confidences and deep affection that can exist between the generations. The story is ingeniously and seamlessly balanced within two different time frames, and the care Lisa Jewell devotes to the sense of place and the detailed fabric of each age gives her book a richness that both charms and moves."--Juliet Nicolson, author of Abdication
