Have Simba Sleep engineered one pillow for all? I think they might have actually managed it. Undoubtedly, they’ve landed close to the mark. On a personal note I dislike the bright blue SIMBA logo on the edge of the pillow or the blue ribbing around the edge. I prefer all-white pillows – just something to be aware of. Simba Hybrid Pillow Layers A nice touch with the Simba Hybrid pillow is the fact that it comes with a little bag to store any nanocubes that you aren’t using. It’s small ideas & features like this that set Simba apart from many other mattress and pillow manufacturers. At first glance you can tell that the Simba Hybrid pillow is something special, mainly because of the cover. Not only does it look luxurious, but it also looks modern thanks to the ventilation strip across the centre of the pillow. You would be hard-pressed to find a better-looking pillow cover out there.

This is a microfibre layer similar to the second layer, but it is not Aerelle fibres, it is a standard microfibre. That’s only the shape as well. We need to consider breathability, temperature regulation, and hypoallergenic qualities. The Simba Hybrid Pillow might stretch your pillow budget to its limit, but considering its quality, adjustability and ability to induce a good night's sleep, it's worth every penny. If you have the Simba Hybrid Firm then the cover and filler pads can be washed in the machine on a gentle cycle up to 40°C and they also can be tumble dried on a low heat. The pillow does arrive in a bigger box than you might expect, but as we said in our Simba Hybrid Pillow review, it is a big beast, so there's not much to be done about that. Out of all the premium pillows that I have reviewed so far, the Simba hybrid pillow and the slightly-cheaper Nectar pillow are the only ones that allow this. The Simba Hybrid Pillow can be cleaned by unzipping the cover, removing the nanocubes and machine-washing the outer casing at 40C. It can then be tumble-dried on a low heat. The only issue with this is that the supplied bag isn't big enough to hold all the nano cubes, so you'll need to find another bag to keep them safe.

Vegan friendly

The final layer is the bottom side of the pillow. The side of the cover which is designed to be underneath. Well, comfort is very subjective, so it depends on the type of support that you prefer and that you are used to. Simba say that this pillow is quite firm, but I found it to be firmer than I expected, even with less nanocubes in. Do you need a supportive pillow, but don’t like the firmness of regular memory foam? Do you like softness but find microfibre isn’t supportive enough? Do you find yourself with allergic reactions to traditional pillow types such as feather pillows?

The fact is that these Simba Hybrid pillows are Marmite to many people: some people think that it is just expensive cut up bits of foam, but others report having the ‘best night sleep ever’. The Simba nanocubes can be added or removed to adjust the height and firmness of your pillow so that it meets your exact requirements and supports your head and spine in all positions. It is a reasonably comfortable pillow, but a different type of comfort, compared to that offered by other brands. If you’ve not slept on a pillow made of cut up bits of foam before, you really have to try it to feel the differene (good or bad). Plenty of blue foam “nanocube” cubes here! The box was larger than I thought it would be, but that said, when I opened it to dig out the Hybrid Pillow, it was also much more sizeable than I imagined and it looked pleasantly puffed-up.
