About this deal

For all of the above, though it wasn’t actually a massive issue for me as I was still enjoying the story, it was good to see Jared & Tate and how their relationship had developed. A lot of things that weren’t really answered in the first two books are cleverly interwoven into this story as well, and up to about 85% I was pretty impressed with the author’s skill with tying things up and together. Bully was a read that was incredibly thought provoking for me, and it teetered on the edge of young adult. Rival is all out romance from the start. It got steamy 25% in (yay!) and remained so throughout the rest of the book. This book had all the things I love in a romance: angst, betrayal, and forgiveness. Sure I got a bit tired of the off and on between Fallon and Madoc, but when they made their choices, they remained faithful to one another, which I loved. Penelope Douglas is a writer in Las Vegas. Born in Dubuque, Iowa, she is the oldest of five children. Penelope attended the University of Northern Iowa, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, because her father told her to “just get the degree!” She then earned a Masters of Science in Education at Loyola University in New Orleans, because she hated Public Administration. One night, she got tipsy and told the bouncer at the bar where she worked that his son was hot, and three years later they were married. To the son, not the bouncer. They have spawn, but just one. A daughter named Aydan. Penelope loves sweets, The Originals, and she shops at Target almost daily. I think it is always important to point out the steam factor and this story was HOT! I mean super HOT. Ms. Douglas can write a sex scene, and theses scenes were panty melting HOT! Penelope Douglas however is a phenomenal writer. She knows how to describe characters so that the reader slowly falls in love with them. She plays with her language and creates a plot that keeps you surprised in every single chapter. Does that mean the plot at times is very broad and slightly confusing? Yes. But it also means that a reader is challenged to pay attention. I enjoyed all the little indicators that showed something would happen before it actually did. It kept me interested in the story.

Second - sex - off the charts hot!!! And I mean it, sheets were on fire with those two. It probably saved the book for me, definitely added 1 star to my review. I have really enjoyed the Fall Away series, so of course I was so excited to read Madoc’s book. Starting this book I knew Madoc as Jared’s sexy best friend, and any friend of Jared’s is a friend of mine. I wish we would have gotten more of Madoc and Fallon's first time together. I think maybe I would have connected with things more. Also Read: Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo Brief Summary Some facts about the book Rival by Penelope Douglas But the one thing I disliked about the book is that I felt that Madoc and Fallon never have a real relationship. They have sex, and lots of it (which is described in detail btw), but their conversations seem to fall flat somehow. With a voice that is even stronger than her already brilliant debut and the promise of work that will only grow deeper, more fulfilling, Douglas brings her readers a more mature, headier blend of forbidden love that leaves them panting for more. Overall, I wasn't wowed but still a decent read for me. And if you loved Bully and Until You, I'd still definitely recommend this one. Jared and Tate are still going strong and it was nice to continue their story as well. Jax seems to have grown up also and I'm looking forward to the next book in this series, which will focus on him. Madoc raised a dark blond eyebrow at me, a hint of a smile in his eyes. Jared twisted his head only enough so that I could see the side of his face.

Durante los dos años que estuvo en el internado, no supe nada de ella. Cuando volvió, de día ni me hablaba y de noche dejaba la puerta de su habitación abierta.I wished I didn’t feel the invisible cord pulling me to him, wanting to touch him again, we always want what’s bad for us" Giveaway : Penelope is offering up the following prizes. The giveaways are international and ends at 11:59 PM CST 09/15/2014. Also, I felt that the "aha" epiphany moment where they realize they love each other just wasn't as seamless and clearly done as it was in Bully. Yes, I realize that this is a different book, but it's impossible not to compare the two. Fallon and Madoc are step-siblings...barely. Madoc's dad and Fallon's mom have never had a traditional marriage. When Madoc and Fallon are sophomores in high school things between them heat up only for Fallon to leave one night in the middle of the night. I squeezed the green bottle in my hand and tried to make her out in the darkness. She wore a dark blue T-shirt with some white swirly writing I couldn’t read, and her hair was all over the place. She used to have piercings, but I couldn’t see anything right now.

and then Jax took one for the team. Why? Again with the whole 17 year old how unrealistic can this get? The drama after 70% just was too much for me, it slowly turned into sopa opera, for real. I mean, her mother, his father, her father, Jared's mother, all the side plots running along with the main one started to get on my nerves. Fallon's dad is part Irish so he must have Guinness on tap on his house. Sure why not add in a racist cliché there too cos all Irish people are such drunks aren't they.

I am not gonna lie, i was a little obsessed with this book long before its release, i woke up in the middle of the night to read it the moment it came out.. And now i want to do it all over again. One less plot device or one less side plot, this would have ended up great. I'm sorry but the story just didn't really come together for me. It felt too cluttered and too heavy-handed for my taste. It’s April fourteenth,” I piped up over Madoc’s shoulder, causing him to spin around. “That mean anything to you, Shit-for-Brains?” I directed at Jared.
