About this deal

Also, seeing Lu Feng just relax and be happy, and the way he accepts An Zhe’s “mushroomy” tendencies – from turning into a ball of hyphae to “tasting” various other species and taking on their qualities for a while – is very heartwarming. Cuando ya se me habían secado las lágrimas, volvieron a correr con el epílogo de Hubbard y Tang Lan QAQ The world construction is meticulous and well planned and doesn't feel like information dump. The characters are likeable (An Zhe is precious okay?) , the pace is good and it definitely has an engaging plot. It also blends quantum and philosophical themes and the romance feels like a soft breeze in spring. I also liked that – while Lu Feng and An Zhe have a lot of cute moments - they aren’t actually a couple until after the book technically ends, since it is only then that the conflicts that made their goals too incompatible are resolved. I also liked that there is another good chunk of time before it become a sexual relationship. See, An Zhe reads as kind of “grey asexual” – which makes a lot of sense given his species’ spore-based reproductive system. And while this could have easily been one of those rather predatory-feeling romances…I don’t get that vibe. This is in part because Lu Feng does not bring up the idea of sex at all until An Zhe asks, and even then only in a “What if I did want that? How do you feel about it?” kind of way. There’s a few moments I don’t particularly care for, but overall you get the feeling they are just figuring out what works for them – and if they happen to get different things out of the experience, that is fine.

This was a very satisfying second half to this tale that is a blend of gritty sci-fi apocalypse and slow-burn enemies-to-lovers queer romance. There’s heist drama (involving An Zhe’s spore), there’s the confrontation when An Zhe’s xenogenic identity can no longer be hidden, there’s cuddles and betrayal, there’s angst and pining, there’s monster fights, there’s social commentary, there’s love and sacrifice, and a hopeful ending. And then you get a bunch of epilogue short stories that are mostly fluffy and adorable, with just a hint of spice. Which is impressive since, as mentioned for part 1…the setup is NOT promising for a happy ending either for our main pair or the world in general. Only humans can enter the human base and you can't escape the judge's eye." An Ze coughed a few times before taking a hard breath. "Don't go… little mushroom." To keep it spoiler free, this second book in the duology was absolutely wild. It's the most unpredictable book I've ever read - anytime I thought I could guess what would happen next, I was proven wrong. I'm convinced the author's brain is just built different from the rest of us mere mortals. This novel is definitely a masterpiece that you must read !!!! Despite an apocalyptic and gloomy doomsday setting, all the characters had their own shortcomings and strengths. There were some funny moments and in fact, there wasn’t any dull moments. There are some sad moments but not those angsty type. Confirmed, this has a happy ending!!!! If you are looking for a danmei / BL novel that is worth your time, do give this novel a try and you won’t be disappointed.

This series was a blast and I am looking forward to owning these 2 books in physical form so I can have them on my shelf to re-read. ❤️

I love the little mushroom as a POV character, because of the alien way he sees the human world and the process of him learning about himself and his emotions. I love how the book explores the concept of the greater good, and the price one has to pay to achieve it. It really digs deep into the philosophy of humanity - is it worth it to survive as a species, if we lose all the good that made us human to begin with? Later, Anzhi says he wants to find the cave and see Anzi. Lu Yan accompanies Anzhi to find the cave since Lu Yan vaguely remembers where it is. Lol....Anzhi gets upset because he thinks Lu Yan didn't take care of his spores. His spores are super important to him, and he thought Lu Yan would care for it, but he killed his spores!!!! Lol Lu Yan teases Anzhi and pushes him down under him and slides his hand under Anzhi's shirt and lightly presses on his stomach and says if Anzhi wants, he can help him make more spores. But other than teasing, Lu Yan doesn't get far. Anzhi figures out that he IS his spores. Anzhi basically is immortal. The reason why he considers his spores more important than his own life is because his spores IS his life. He can continuously live on so long as he can germinate spores. Anzhi apologizes to Lu Yan because he did keep his promise. He took care of his spore and guarded his body for 3 long years. You say that you’re a monster but as a judge, I haven’t found the difference between you and humans. ”

I… won’t give it to you.” He reached out to protect his belly, his voice trembling violently as he cried out intermittently, “I hate… you.” Due to the invasions of the arthropods, the outer base was blown up and some humans were transferred to the main base. An Zhe was transferred to the main base and worked as a teacher in a nursery to look after young human children, the future of humankind. But he never stopped looking for the whereabouts of his spore. At night, he would turn himself into mycelium and traverse through pipes and vents of the buildings to look for his spore, and he finally saw it on TV as a research project by Dr Ji.

An Zhe didn't move. He quietly leaned against a mushroom and breathed evenly as his entire body was sniffed. The huge monster seemed to get nothing and dragged its heavy feet away. The short memory dissipated in the air, just as An Ze's life suddenly dissipated in this world. An Ze was only a snow-white skeleton. I WAS HOPING THERE WOULD BE A SPICY SCENE BUT JUST HAVING LU FENG SAY THINGS LIKE THAT SATISFIED ME BECAUSE WHHHAAAATTTTTT???? Sir said let’s turn this into a kink along with that sexy hyphae 😏😏😏 Book Genre: Adult, Boys Love, Dystopia, Fantasy, Fiction, LGBT, Light Novel, Novels, Romance, Science Fiction, Yaoi

Finally, I settled on “Little Mushroom”, a short novel with an apocalypse setting which suited my mood best! tbh i don't get the whole geomagnetic frequency thingy, but i'm here to read the story of my little mushroom and his hot colonel bf <3 readerz @Rilise @Regalia1896 @Raneday @Raizendeville @Rabbitanairy @Ryss @Rurella @Rucce @RoseColouredSin @Rainess09 In the year 2020, Earth's magnetic poles disappeared and humankind was nearly wiped out by cosmic radiation. Within the span of a hundred years, living creatures began to mutate and devour each other while the remaining humans, numbering in the tens of thousands, struggled bitterly in their man-made bases. The Judge had the highest authority to decide who should be killed and who should live. He could kill anyone in this human civilisation and not be convicted of murder. Thus everyone hated him. He was the cold and merciless Colonel Lu Feng and his diagnosis of infected humans and heterogenous species was always 100% accurate.

The highlight of this volume was the attention to the emotional development of An Zhe, who finally comes to terms with the fact that he isn't just a mushroom with a single-minded focus, but has formed attachments and has human-like wishes of his own, and can also be self-sacrificing. Though not exclusively, a lot of this development is centered on An Zhe's relationship with Lu Feng, and his place in the uncomparably lonely world of the Arbiter. There were two chapters in particular I have in mind that did this beautifully and memorably. I'm certain these will incentivize a re-read much sooner than I would originally intend. He is just…a little mushroom.” To THINK this sentence could make me suffer and cry like nothing before. WHY ALL THIS PAINN.? This was the most addictive, adorable, and heart wrenching experience EVER. I was giggling one minute and the screaming at my kindle the next. It may be dealing with psychological trauma…Really?” Lu Feng wondered, “Then why did it see you in the Lighthouse but actively drifted to only me?” i also don't mind when the plot takes precedence over the romance - this is a plot-driven cnovel after all, that comes with the territory. i do mind, however, when the two romantic scenes we get are actually not that romantic. again, their emotions were so restrained and suppressed and for what?? an zhe had more genuinely heartwarming moments with this random old man introduced towards the end of the story than his actual love interest (though the epilogues were sweet i guess). An Zhe didn't speak. His entire body moved in An Ze's direction. He held An Ze's shoulder with his newly grown human arm and a large number of mycelium came and piled up beside An Ze, supporting An Ze's crumbling body. Excelente elección extender los capítulos desde el punto de vista de Lu Feng! Sabemos que no es el hombre despiadado que todos creen.
