About this deal

As the outstanding balance, plus the interest now form part of your payable balance they will attract interest This machine does not come with any quilting feet, but you can buy them separately. You’ll need the walking foot, quilting guide, 1/4″ foot, and free-motion foot. The Brother LS14 is one of the cheapest and most reliable sewing machines on the UK market which makes it a versatile learning tool for a young sewer or even children, with its value for the money price tag it’s a great place to start your sewing journey. For experienced sewers, it’s also a great model because of the metal chassis and reliability. This machine provides a variety of zig zag stitches which can be used to close open edges of fabrics preventing it from fraying. This is a handy stitch to use during dressmaking or general clothes making projects. Needle threading is done manually with the Brother LS14 as there is no built-in needle threader. Freehand Stitching

The Ls14s did not stretch out the fabric, which I was happy about. Many of the other budget machines I tested did. And the blind hem stitch is really hard to use without a blind hem foot. I couldn’t sew perfectly straight with the standard foot, so many of my blind hem stitches didn’t catch the hem!Basic stitches include a straight stitch which while the most elementary of stitches, is useful for securing the start and end of seams as well as sewing two pieces of fabric together. Brother has been a well established business for over one hundred years and has been invested in the sewing industry for half that time. While they are now mostly known for their technological solutions in office supplies, they have transferred that technical knowledge over to their sewing machines. It did join the fabric together strongly, but the Ls14s hated sewing this. It sounded very loud and thumpy. It also slowed down when going over the seam allowance humps. This created uneven stitch lengths and a skipped stitch. The motor isn’t powerful enough for this fabric. Faux leather & cotton canvas zipper pouch

But if you only sew occasionally, it will probably be a long time before your machine wears out. I wouldn’t worry about it then. Another advantage of an LED light is the fact that you will not have to replace the bulb or replace its batteries so it lasts longer. I don’t love the buttonholes it makes, but they’re acceptable. The bottom 3 buttonholes have uneven left and right bars. The top buttonhole is even because I adjusted the ‘buttonhole screw’.

From as little as £5 per month, plus up to 10% off monthly premiums for life

We believe the Brother LS14 is compatible with presser feet that are Press On / Low Shank. If you already have presser feet that are compatible with this type of shank from a previous sewing machine, then in many cases you will be able to use the same presser feet on this model as well. The stitch length is affected by how fast or slow you sew. So if you start fast and then slow down, your stitches will be different lengths. For comparison, all of the beginner machines I tested also have this problem.
