Never pull out the pizza stone when it is hot, this will cause it to crack with the quick temp changes. Although we were very skeptical, we followed what the Big Horn manual said (grease the pizza peel a bit with oil) and as a result, the pizza ended up stuck badly to the pizza stone. With the door closed, you can’t see how your pizza is cooking, and you’ll want to check it regularly. The only part that needs a tool is the pellet hopper which requires a screwdriver to fix it into place. This pizza oven comes with basic instructions on how to use it, but they’re not very comprehensive, and there is a learning curve involved before you can get the best results, as there is with all pizza ovens.
