About this deal

it's a comforting story about comfort and care, as soothing to read as it is to think about, and so full of hope and wonder and potential discovery. Due to their nagging sense of being without a true purpose in life, they decided to travel into the wilderness to find a long-forgotten hermitage.

As a person, who lived in the USSR and was also interested in social utopian experiments during the last few centuries across the globe, I still consider popular in the West, esp. Mosscap has volunteered to go out amongst the humans to find out what they need and make sure that the development of humanity has progressed in a positive manner.

They leaned their head back, letting the water run through their hair as they stared at the sky above the trees. She spends her free time playing video and tabletop games, keeping bees, and looking through her telescope. Roughly of the same novella-like length as A Psalm for the Wild-Built, A Prayer for the Crown-Shy probably won’t be named the feel-good book of 2022 in a way that the first book in the series was named a year prior (especially by me).

If someone told me I would enjoy reading a book about two non-binary characters discussing various aspects of philosophy I would have laughed.Mosscap leaned in toward the fire drum, as close as was safe, its glowing eyes fixed on the apparatus within. The defining characteristic of Panga is the optimism of Chambers’ humanity: these are folks who are kind, helpful, unselfish, and largely want for nothing. They shed their dirty, sweat-soaked, forest-flecked clothes, set up the camp shower, turned the water on, and stepped into the spray. They left their role working in the gardens of a monastery in Book 1, ‘A Psalm for the Wild Built’ and started a new vocation as a travelling Tea Monk. But the moment they pedaled their wagon out of the wilderness and onto the highway, Dex felt the indescribable relief of switching back to the flip side of that equation—the side in which humans had made existence as comfortable as technology would sustainably allow.

And thanks to “The Venture Bros”, in my head, Mosscap’s voice is Rhys Darby – which makes me smile a lot. Please note: This review may not be reproduced or quoted, in whole or in part, without explicit consent from the author. I think you’ll bring a lot of perspective to the people we meet, even if all they do is see you walk by.The story continues from where the last volume has ended – the Monk (Sibling Dex) and the Robot (Mosscap) travel together and finally visit some places, where there are other people.
