About this deal

I don't know if many of you have ever had the chance to play a Kanile'a GL6 but they are all a much welcome addition to any high end ukulele/guitar collection. Like I mention in my guitalele tuning post, standard tuning for the guitalele is in the same intervals as a guitar but pitched up a 4th from A to A as if you were capoing the guitar on the 5th fret: ADGCEa. Unfortunately an increase in string diameter also has the disadvantage of increasing internal dampening resulting in a less responsive, duller sound. We're guitar players and string fanatics, and we're here to help you discover your favourite set from the widest range of acoustic, electric, and bass guitar strings anywhere in the UK.

While I can believe that some characteristics could make it "far better" than the Yamaha, neck width isn't one of them. Perhaps the Yamaha web site was leaving implicit that I should be using 1/2 or 1/4 scale strings when they say "normal" classical strings? e. on the low side because my son was happy with that), to Rubino-like Aquila E-tuning guitalele strings doesn't just sound nicer, it completely revolutionizes this fun but boxy little guitar. That was still a bit lose to play in standard tuning (important for practicing anything with voice while traveling) so I changed the saddle which raised the action. The higher-pitched guitalele tuning is why the guitalele strings are usually lighter than those used on a guitar. To optimise the performance of Red Series strings, differing percentages of copper powder are used in each individual string, resulting in varying gradients of light to darker red across the strings. Alice is known for designing the guitalele strings available and uses decades of experience in engineering strings.

THE GUILELE/GUITALELE RED SERIES sets provide superior performance over traditional strings for musicians who love clear, sharp sounds and powerful voicing across the full scale of the instrument. Until now, it has always been necessary to increase a string’s gauge to reach lower frequencies, hence most Low G sets have previously included a wound string to achieve their purpose. The good news is that strings for this type of guitalale are extremely easy to get hold of – you just need to grab a pair of electric guitar steel strings! Two minor things that may be a problem : the treebles are rectified nylon, this may not suit everyone's tastes.

Aquila strings are a great option for this (in fact they could be classed as a ukulele string, but will work with a guitalele nonetheless). These are a great choice for if your guitalele has bridge pins (meaning you’ll need to ‘pin’ the end of the string, usually with a steel ball attached to the string, into the bridge of the guitar). All purchases made through Original Artisan are processed through our secure online payment gateways using the most up-to-date security protocols offered by PayPal and Stripe, two of the most trusted and popular online payment gateways in the world. A travel guitar is likely more worth the extra cash if you really need that guitar sound and E tuning on the go.

In fact, the only ones I know of are Aquila’s and they have loop ends that are not designed to work with bridge pins. a tuning, as I frequently capo at the 4th or 5th fret anyway to suit my vocal range (when I feel like singing, rather than the usual fingerstyle noodling), and am not looking to go with any other tuning.I’d recommend the same ones I recommend for standard tuning which are Aquila’s since this step down tuning shouldn’t change tension all that much. g. tuned to E, the hard strings will be higher tension than lighter strings, but that the harder strings can be tuned up to A with less increase in tension than the lighter strings, due to a myriad of variables in gauge, hardness, material, etc.
