A migrant stadium worker who helped build the Qatar 2022 stadiums would need to have worked 1,964 hours to afford the cost of completing the album, based on the 45p-an-hour wage many were paid as revealed in a Guardian investigation. To celebrate this historic edition of the tournament in Qatar – held for the first time ever across November and December, and in some incredible futuristic venues – Panini is proud to announce the launch of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Sticker Collection.

The collection features all 20 Premier League clubs as well as celebrated Legends and ‘Next Gen’ stars of the beautiful game. All 32 teams qualified for the final phase of the tournament are represented by a squad of 18 players, official strips and badges. With the World Cup only offering a short window of time for Panini fans to fill their albums, the Italian sticker maestros are offering bulk purchases, including boxes of 50 and 100 sticker packets.

For the sake of completeness, it is to mention that, for the CL and National League, no longer Panini, but Topps, has the license rights. In the early days of the World Cup tradition, a pack of four stickers would cost 5p, but now, with packs containing an extra sticker, they will set collectors back 90p.

It also features team badges, team celebration stickers and duo stickers for all 23 players from each squad.

Panini has also released a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Adrenalyn XL official card collection, featuring several categories and the national teams which took part in the play-offs as well as those competing in the tournament. The latest German version is currently the album "FC Schalke 04 - Der geilste Club der Welt in 204 Sammelbildern" which means translated to English "FC Schalke 04 - The most outstanding Club of the World in 204 collector's stickers" (status: March 2017). Tearing open those packets and excitedly filling an album is a rite of passage for millions of kids - and adults.

For the first time ever, there will also be a full digital version of the Premier League 2022 collection, so collectors can not only finish the physical album, but also a digital album too. Travelling fans will experience a World Cup in the Middle East for the first time, with supporters staying at home set to be glued to the screens, as five weeks of action kicks off. The album features players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Declan Rice, Mohamed Salah and Jack Grealish on the front cover.
