About this deal

As their marriage crumbles, Stephanie feels herself coming unglued, and soon she isn’t sure what–or who–to believe. If you’re looking for a fast-paced domestic thriller to get caught up in, I would certainly recommend The End of Her. That’s because Erica, disgusting piece of human scum that she is, is also running a racket on two other couples at the same time (related to the main storyline, but I won’t say how) and every so often there would be these other perspectives randomly inserted into the narrative.

Hanna Bright puts little Teddy in his baby swing on the front porch and sits down to read her novel. Suspense and suspicion accumulate relentlessly, toying with your expectations and your emotions right up until the packs-a-punch ending. Luckily, the ending did pick up a little in the last 80 pages or so and I think the ending was the best part of the book (even though I did predict one of the plot twists, but there were other twists I didn’t see coming) but overall I have very meh feelings toward this one. This gave us a well rounded picture of how this one newcomer in town threw several lives into turmoil. What I thought was unique about this book explores humans and fragility of human relationships; how even the smallest suspicion can torment a human mind and destroy relationships. When I saw this one was coming out, I initially couldn’t fit it on my calendar for review but then COVID happened and a lot of my summer releases got moved to fall by the publishers so summer opened up and I was able to squeeze this one in! Her contemporary series feature ex-cop Peter Marsh and Daughter and classic car detective Jack Colby, and she is currently working on a new series starring Cara Shelley who runs a café in the grounds of stately home Tanton Towers.

Wenn du das Abo nicht fortsetzen möchtest, kannst du es vor Ende des Testzeitraums jederzeit kündigen. It’s an excellent book to escape into to simply enjoy the suspense and entertainment without having to think too much. I was just looking at the house across the street," the other woman says, making her way up the drive. Even more so when a volatile ghost from the past turns up at his New York office: Erica is her name, blackmail is her sport, and she is used to getting her own way. BUT, for ME, the BEST Psychological Suspense books are those which manage to surprise with characters who stay true to WHO they are, and those which remain plausible.Erica blackmails them because she already did her homework and she knows about inheritance money of Stephanie and she wants her cut for her silence not to talk to the police for reopening the murder case. I think he believed from Samantha's suggestions, that after death he would be ethereal and they would meet again.
