About this deal

I think, and I stand corrected, that the white film is the filter and acted as both the barrier between the skin and foundation and as the glowing, pearlescent filter that shone through the foundation. I think this would be great on fair skin since the light reflecting pearls are so light, but I think it would be just gorgeous on a deeper skin tone too. Physician’s Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer: Water/Eau, Dodecane, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Glycerin, Brassica Campestris/Aleurites Fordi Oil Copolymer, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Glyceryl Stearate, Peg-100 Stearate, Polyisobutene, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylene Brassylate, Panthenol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glycol, Peg-7 Trimethylolpropane Coconut Ether, Tocopheryl Acetate, Disodium Edta, Sorbitan Isostearate, Retinyl Palmitate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Tin Oxide, Tocopherol, Carmine (Ci 75470), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491), Mica, Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891). Backlight Technology encourages a lit-from-within glow, adding a sheer layer that’s powered by luminosity. Many look incredible on my skin for 30 minutes to 1 hour and then turn into an unmanageable oil slick after that which is a shame for me because often times the coverage and color options are perfect.

One thing that people may enjoy is that it doesn’t have the silicone feel that a lot of other primers have. Through my blog, I hope to promote confidence to all of my readers, and prove that you can do anything you set your mind to. It helps to blur any imperfections, and the Vitamin E helps to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Right off the bat, I can say that the colors look sooo different from the packaging and the promo photos! When I applied it, I was expecting it to be a bit on the oiler side because, like many others, I associate luminous with a bit of oil and shine.

Other than having a good safety profile and being quite gentle to the skin it has some other advantages too. I used to use the Becca Sheer Luminous Foundation (original version) and the Foundation Stick many years ago (back in the early 2000s when I was in college and the line was still at Nordstrom). It’s a nice ingredient that just feels good on the skin, is super well tolerated by every skin type and easy to formulate with.

A few weeks ago, I picked up the Becca Backlight Filter Face Primer at Sephora, and have been religiously using it ever since.Limonene's nr1 function is definitely being a fragrance component, but there are several studies showing that it's also a penetration enhancer, mainly for oil-loving components. I would’ve thought if your primer had that much radiance to it that you’d have to stick with a sheer coverage foundation, but this really does shine through whatever you put over it. It can be a replacement for mineral oil and is often combined with other emollients to achieve different sensorial properties. Blended together, they result in a first of its kind, lightweight, whipped fluid that creates a smooth canvas and acts as an instant filter. However if you have really good skin already and don’t care too much for a primer, and prefer a golden base then this is for you.
