About this deal

The only reason I could attempt it was the left hand doesn't do too much on the twiddly diddly front.

When Morty joined the company, he had recently received a business degree from City College of New York. Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. There's a sizeable amount of theory included and a good range of pieces, as well as some decent material on chords. I usually find my students confidently progress at a quick pace until this point, and then the last 20 pages or so are a real slog. Mas o mais bacana para mim desse livro são os arranjos, que permitem que a gente toque músicas bem bonitinhas com apenas 5 notas e sem usar as teclas pretas, deixando o aprendizado menos maçante. Some of the songs were rather boring and no fun, but initially, every beginner's purpose is to learn to play well, and that's why I learned all the songs, including the boring ones. It is a greatly expanded version of Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course that will include lesson, theory, and technique in a convenient, "all-in-one" format.

I'm also a big fan of Rachel Jimenz's "Fundamental Keys" method, which I think in many ways suffers from the opposite problem (great for developing more hand independence, less great for learning chords). By the time you get to the middle and the end you’re going to sound like a real pianist…so take the time to really learn the beginning parts of the book before you try moving on to the more difficult pages. They were good for the first 8 weeks, but I felt I wasn't being taught in the way I needed to learn.Brother John * Caf Vienna * The Can-Can * Chiapanecas * Cockles and Mussels * The Cuckoo * The Donkey * The Entertainer * A Friend Like You * The Gift to Be Simple * Go Down, Moses * Good King Wenceslas * Good Morning to You! I haven't played piano for 50 years, and in the intervening years had played a treble clef instrument so had forgotten the left hand notes. I just came across the Faber site today when I was looking for info on the technique that my teacher is trying to get me to use. Is there a MP3 out there of the CD content (since my laptop doesn't have a cd player), or someone who want to share this with me? But those 3-note right-hand chords are a real challenge for most learners, which is why this tends to be a sticking piece.

My current teacher uses Faber (Accelerated Older Beginner) and then PA for late elementary and beyond. I got this book as a more adult supplement to my main beginner's method, which is aimed at children, with the aim of expanding my repertoire. The only thing I would add are the major, minor and other scales in colourful diagrams to make learning easier. A beginner usually has a ton of fire and motivation when they first start learning the piano, and this overcomes some of the hokeyness of earlier pieces. Apart from that, the Alfred's books are great for self-teaching and very complete, but not everyone likes them. There are thousands of adult piano students ranging from ages 18 – 90, and with the advent of online learning, that number is increasing every day and is one of the wonderful benefits of offering online piano lessons. It’s not usually so difficult that students give up, but frustration can happen sometimes (especially when parts of the first book were so easy). This means that you’ll be completing 1-2 pieces per week if you’re planning on completing the first book in a year.

If you're able to make it through all three levels of the method you will have an excellent foundation for playing the piano. Overall, it’s a great course – solid, effective, affordable, and most teachers are familiar with it. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. If you want to have a listen to pieces from each book to see the progression and the types of pieces in each, I have made playlists of quite a few adult beginner books. One of the best places to start for adults is Alfred’s Adult Piano Course which comes in three levels. my goals are to play anime openings and If Im far enough I want to play animenz Arrangements Like his unravel. It is a greatly expanded version of Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course that will include lesson, theory, and technique in a convenient, all-in-one" format. Anyway, every time I'm sitting there waiting my turn to see the quack I think 'I used to be able to play that (Moonlight Sonata not the cigar tune) and better than this version'. However, there are still plenty of easy wins and straightforward pieces, such as “You’re in My Heart”.
