About this deal

Throw and Grow Our range of colourful non-native wildflower mixtures are a quick and easy way to add a splash of colour to an otherwise dull area. We supply mixtures for all soil types, with annuals and perennials, and all the flowers we sell are native. Sprogs and Dogs is a carefully blended mix, made up of 3 key species: Ryegrass, Slender Creeping Red Fescue, and Bentgrass. Germinal is so confident about the world-beating hue of its So Green grass, which uses specially-cultivated Abernile ryegrass, that it planted the stuff on the side of a house for its product photo (above). We also offer a Spring Lawn Revive Kit, containing everything you need to get your lawn back in shape.

The seeds germinate quickly, with initial shoots appearing in days, but growth rate is slow and you’ll need to be very vigilant about weeds.Has not germinated, I over seeded the lawn following the correct procedure keeping soil moist, and sowed when it when the temp was warm, I took a small number of seed and put in into my tortoise table under the sunlamp (the dandelion seeds have grown really well) to see if it would germinate but nothing after 10 days so not very happy as I thought I was purchasing a premium product. It was designed to be a hardwearing, smart and easy to grow lawn, that could be relied on for many years to come.

Landscape Seed Our landscape grass seed range contains some of our most popular mixtures used in the industry. We’ll be expanding our lawncare range over time, with new products constantly being added to our range. People find this mix works well for them because of the ease of establishment and high quality lawn that is created. The seeds are fairly quick to germinate, especially if you plant them in spring or autumn, with users reporting a “lush green lawn” eight weeks after planting. But if you want a smooth ornamental lawn, avoid ryegrass completely and go for bentgrass, with some fescue in the mix to help it survive underfoot. Measure the area and allow a little bit extra for subsequent filling in or patching that may be necessary at a later stage.

These hard-wearing grass seed mixtures are designed to be easy to grow and fast to establish, with minimal effort. Lawn Fertilisers Lawn UK supply a range of different fertlisers for various applications, including preseeding fertilisers, and Spring and Autumn feeds. You won’t need to do much ground preparation: just sprinkle it on your lawn’s patches and cover with netting (it’s very tasty, according to our local feathered friends). We supply stadiums to training grounds, village greens to school playing fields and golf courses to cricket pitches on a regular basis. It is not as pretty as grass, but it will keep the mud at bay, is easily topped up and the dogs won’t mind walking on it. That said, any type of newly-sown grass should be left to grow up to around 7cm before you cut it for the first time. Again, go over the area one way and then repeat at right angles to ensure proper distribution of the seed. Within 4 weeks if seeding I had a luscious thick green lawn that looks like it’s been there for years. Sprogs and Dogs for example can help you transform you garden’s lawn into a year round green space providing quick growing, full and thick green cover.

The main downsides are that it’s slow to establish, and the ryegrass-free mix requires warmer temperatures to germinate. The onslaught of my two labradors means I have paved over most of my lawn, but the remaining grass turns nasty even with frequent cleaning and raking. Football pitch vs posh lawn: If your lawn needs to withstand endless close encounters with kids, pets and BBQ guests, then go for a predominantly ryegrass mix. All the products in our line-up are seed mixes, made up of different grass varieties that each have their pros and cons. Hard-wearing mixtures gain this property by containing fast growing aggressive species including modern dwarf perennial ryegrass, and red fescue.

According to long-term users it really does work, maintaining a dark green colour even during droughts. These mixtures are all ryegrass-free, and are predominantly made up of fescue and bentgrass species tailored for the perfect finish. Key specs – Seed types: Abernile perennial ryegrass, fescue, bentgrass; When to sow: Spring/autumn; Mowing height: Optimum 2. We feel with the right mixture, you can actually get better results with our carefully chosen blends than any “one size fits all” seed. The result is a beautifully fine, dense lawn that looks like a glorious green carpet, although it needs regular close mowing to look its best.
