Ultimately, it's another year where, on paper, Hisense's TVs should be every bit as good as the brands people are used to seeing excel. We're always optimistic and we want cheaper TVs to succeed, but Hisense has burned us before...

Hisense 65U8QFTUK features – None of the new headline features, but these arguably won’t matter to most One possible reason could be that Hisense is simply taking a bigger hit on its profits. Its TVs could cost the roughly the same to manufacture as everyone else's but its mark-up is smaller. Hisense is an enormous company that makes more than just TVs. It may be happy to turn a bigger profit in its other product areas while it makes a name for itself in TVs.A total of four HDMI inputs are provided, with two offering HDMI 2.1 features such as 4K/120Hz support, variable refresh rate (VRR), and auto low latency mode (ALLM). Other gamer-friendly features include Freesync Premium Pro, and there’s also HDMI eARC support.

Televisions that cost less than the popular competition have made Hisense the fifth most popular TV brand in the UK. But low prices will only get you so far and, in previous years, Hisense's seat at the table has been more like the folding chair you drag out of the spare room when you have guests than the padded luxury enjoyed by some of its rivals.

About

Like the U8K, this model has a very wide color gamut, so it's vibrant and colorful. It also has equally good image processing, which is very welcome for this mid-range model. Plus, it is compatible with both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, with the same DTS advanced audio format support as the more expensive Hisense, making this TV one of the cheapest home entertainment-ready TVs you can get. Watching football with the Sports mode, it comes across like an amorphous blob, the fake crowd noise not helping the overall flatness to the point where it’s difficult to decipher everything the commentators are saying. Their voices rarely sit above the crowd noises. It does, at least, refrain from harsh or shrill tones. LG is the best brand on average, which is true in many cases, but there are some stinkers in its huge lineup. If you're on a tighter budget, the Hisense U6/U6Koffers great value compared to similarly-priced models from other brands. Unlike the Hisense U7K and Hisense U8/U8K, you aren't getting the same high-end features and performance, but it's still quite decent. It uses the same quantum dot technology, which means it displays a wide range of colors and has remarkable pre-calibration accuracy, so you won't have to get it calibrated to get accurate colors. In the UK, Hisense has focused on building its presence in the value-added market, but with the A9H, it’s taking on the premium market with its flagship OLED.

What’s more, coming with FreeSync technology and a 120Hz refresh rate, you’ll get less tearing and stuttering, so you can enjoy more of what you love. Entertainment for Everyone With Hisense, it's the other way round. Typically its TVs struggle, but there are some diamonds in the rough. When costs are so low, it's worth searching for that one good model that's comparable to more well-known brands, but undercuts them by hundreds of pounds. What about the Hisense Laser TV? Atmos is designed to send sound over your head, or at least simulate it. Since most TVs don't have speakers pointed upwards this effect tends to be negligible.

Hisense A85H review

BBC Sounds and UEFA TV have been added, while the likes of Apple TV, Disney Plus, Spotify and Tidal remain unsupported. Furthermore, in some ways, it's even better for gaming than the more expensive Hisense due to the U7K's faster overall response time. It still has extremely low input lag and a great selection of gaming features. Like its bigger sibling, this TV has two HDMI 2.1 bandwidth ports, each capable of up to 4k @ 144Hz with full VRR support to minimize tearing in games. It's a great TV and a fantastic choice if you want the U8 but find it too much for your budget. Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying a live scene and white square taking up 60% of the screen (measured in Nits)
