About this deal

Along with the updated 3D Fit Print technology, the Ghost 14 improves the fit throughout the heel collar for a secure feeling. Our reviewers loved the snug feel of the padded tongue and cushioned heel collar. The Brooks Ghost is probably the blandest running shoe in existence. If the Ghost was a pizza, it would be a Margherita.

The Ghost 13 isn’t wildly different from the Ghost 12, which, I’d argue, is a good thing. The 12 is a great shoe and so is the 13. Brooks made one bigger update to the cushioning and some smaller overall tweaks, but why mess with a good thing, right? Here are my favorite features of the Ghost 13: Extended Luxurious Cushioning Throughout the Shoe Other than that, they are very similar to the previous Brooks Ghost 12. I haven’t tested the previous model so I cannot really compare them. But as far as I have seen their features, the only difference between them that I found was that they added more cushioning to the forefoot. And of course they changed the color scheme. If everything works well with the shoes, what else would you change then? Since 2001, Brooks has been focussing exclusively on the pursuit we love more than any other, challenging themselves to make the best running gear in the world. Brooks aspires to reflect the truth in running. Technology is only valid when it helps you run. Customization is only worthwhile if it improves function before form. Narratives are only useful when they connect with you and inspire you. The biggest update is the change of mesh. It feels thinner, more breathable and gives the Ghost 14 a more streamlined feel but it’s still a warm upper that’s more suited to cooler climates. A gripe that the majority of the experts share is that the Ghost 13 “lags behind in responsiveness.” They agree that it’s simply not "it" for those who want to go fast. Smooth and stable rideRearfoot DNA cushioning gel is a highly viscous liquid that changes to become more or less firm in response to each individual's weight, pace, biomechanics, and running environment.

No matter the distance, the Brooks Ghost 10 is ready to provide reliable cushioning and comfort every step of the way. Version 14 feels more versatile and more performance-oriented than version 13 because of its streamlined upper, snappier forefoot and its new full DNA Loft midsole. The Ghost offers a reliable, consistent ride. It’s soft, energetic, stable and responsive,” says one reviewer. The only time I ever run in a 12 mm drop is when I’m testing the Ghost. While it might put some people off, I don’t mind the high drop. The upper in the 13 is more breathable and Brooks tweaked the outsole ever so slightly to make it more stable. The Brooks Ghost 13 Versus the Brooks Glycerin 18 Now, DNA Loft foam spans the entire midsole and delivers smooth transitions and plush cushioning with each step.

The Brooks Ghost is a longtime favorite of runners of all abilities, and the updated Brooks Ghost 14 is no exception.A plush bed of DNA Loft foam provides soft cushioning and smooth transitions. The DNA Loft works with a Segmented Crash Pad to provide flexibility to every toe off. Honestly, these shoes are far better than the Pegasus’ I was using before. Those things killed my feet but I feel great after my runs in the Ghost 14’s. As for me, the only issue I have wuith them is that the outsole is wearing a little faster than I would’ve liked, but not by much. They’re lasting longer than my Nike Pegasus 39’s did. Besides that complaint, my Ghost 14’s have been phenomenal. I feel great all throughout my runs in them, and I run anywhere from 25-30 miles every week. I even use them for walking some days and they make for excellent walking shoes. Forefoot DNA cushioning gel is a highly viscous liquid that changes to become more or less firm in response to each individual's weight, pace, biomechanics, and running environment. There were portions of the run where I was able to go faster than easy pace and at the end of the run, my average pace was about 30 seconds faster per kilometre than my normal easy run pace.

The Ghost 14 continues to hit its stride by offering the perfect blend of flexibility and stability in the outsole. After 80 kilometers in the Ghost 14, I’ve noticed that outsole durability is however below average compared to other daily trainers so if you’re particularly hard on outsoles, stay away from the Ghost. Seriously, this shoe is so plush. Run tester, Sam, shares why the Ghost 13 is a great choice for everyone from beginner runners to seasoned runners.
